The John Kufuor Research to Impact Prize
We are delighted to announce the launch of the inaugural Presidential Research-to-Impact Prize, endorsed by former President John Kufuor.
This is not just an academic prize. It recognises research with leadership potential. The Prize recognises outstanding student research with clear potential to inform policy, advance development, strengthen governance, or create real-world societal impact.
We particularly welcome research that advances leadership, governance, economic development, social transformation, sustainability, or public policy.
Three outstanding dissertations will be presented the John Kufuor Global Research-to-Impact Prize as follows:
- Alumni of the John Kufuor Foundation
- Alumni of the Programme for African Leadership (LSE)
- African Master’s graduates from participating UK universities
What we are looking for:
- Strong academic research
- Clear societal relevance
- Evidence of impact potential
- Ability to communicate beyond academia
Shortlisted finalists will:
- Present at the inaugural Research-to-Impact showcase
- Receive feedback from a cross-sector panel
- Be eligible for the Research to Impact Accelerator and follow-on impact grants
- Be featured in Dissertation Frontiers publication
- Receive certificates of achievements
- Be eligible for dissertation internships
- Be recognised as members of the inaugural Research-to-Impact Fellow

Judging panel
Shortlisted finalists and winners are assessed by an independent panel of judges. They consist of international experts and seasoned professionals in education, employability, and enterprise from private and public sectors.
